Our Unique Approach

The CALSOAP project bring together school districts, public and private colleges and universities, community-based organizations, and private sector partners within a region of the state to form a larger consortium of educators. These consortia are instrumental in converting outreach efforts into programs and activities which intend to minimize the duplication of services that each individual institution provides. While each of the sixteen (16) projects offers services that are specific to the needs of its local community, there are multiple common activities such as advising, tutoring, parent outreach, and college awareness workshops provided by all consortia. Over the past three decades, the CALSOAP program has additionally supported eligible post-secondary school students with the necessary salary and work experiences as College Success Coaches.
